美國夏威夷州傳出嚴重野火災情，位於毛伊島上的旅遊小鎮拉海納鎮（Lahaina Town）陷入火海，據毛伊郡最新統計數據，目前這場野火災情造成的死亡人數已經從6人增加到53人，是自2018年以來最致命的災難之一。8月9日已有超過1.1萬人從毛伊島撤離，美國總統拜登更在10日宣布此次事件是「重大災難」，下令動用聯邦資金救災。
颶風助長火勢 毛伊島多處陷入火海
據夏威夷媒體報導，毛伊島至少已經爆發三起大火，並且目前仍在持續延燒中，火勢尚未受到控制，災情可能將持續擴大。災情最為嚴重的拉海納鎮目將將通往鎮上的道路封鎖，毛伊郡表示已有36人死於野火，另外還有數十人受傷，消防人員仍持續與大火搏鬥，尋找倖存者。

毛伊島的野火災情持續延燒，數千名遊客緊急撤離，官員也呼籲非當地居民盡速離開。在9日有超過1.1萬人從毛伊島撤離，由於主要道路關閉，造成部分民眾無法及時抵達機場，有些航班在起飛時仍有空位。超過600人在卡胡盧伊機場（Kahului Airport）過夜，等待清晨班機，今（10）鬥預計將有1500人搭機離開。

由於朵拉颶風（Hurricane Dora）的影響，強風助長了夏威夷的野火災情，島上多處地區被大火吞噬，造成數千居民失去家園，包含民宅及企業在內，有數百棟建築物被燒毀。目前火勢尚未受到控制，日後的重建之路非常漫長，估計需要花上好幾年的時間。
